Women in Technology International Announces 7th Annual WITI Silicon Valley Smart Partnering Conference & Expo

International Technology Organization Hosts Strategic Public Forum Providing Access to Leading Industry Thinkers on Technology for Professional Women

LOS ANGELES, (May 28, 2002) - Women in Technology International (WITI), the leading global organization founded with the express intent of empowering women in technology with information products, services and support, announced its seventh annual Silicon Valley WITI Conference and Exposition in Santa Clara, June 18 - 20, at the Santa Clara Convention Center. The focus of this years conference is aptly named "Smart Partnering" and will provide conference participants with thirty sessions (within six tracks), information and networking opportunities for women in technology seeking access to capital sources, technology solutions, business and career best practices, branding and media techniques - and advice relative to work and life choices. The conference curriculum covers the breadth of innovative industries including biotechnology, nanotechnology, storage solutions, wireless technology, and other primary technology trends.

Additionally, WITI will be unveiling the findings of the Key3Media-WITI Technology Buyer Research findings that will highlight significant market trends impacting the immediate future for women professionals.

New to WITIs Annual Conference: Winning Government Contracts WITI will introduce a new workshop, "How to Respond to Government RFPs". The US Government petitions for proposals and allocates funds for technology contracts. Washington DC mandates that 5% of these contracts be granted to women-owned businesses, however, today 2% of these contracts actually find their way to women entrepreneurs. In an effort to better facilitate fund allocation for women-owned businesses WITI is proud to have created a specific workshop led by, Lurita Doan, President & CEO, New Technology Management, Inc (Deloitte & Touche Fast50, Washington Technology Fast50- (6th) and Forbes ASAP Fast500- (67th) and Working Woman 500). Doan will instruct participating attendees through an interactive workshop about listing on Government RFP sites, how to develop a winning proposal for Government Contracts, as well as successful marketing strategies to gain Government Business.

"And to that end, we are leveraging our annual conference to better facilitate meaningful exchange and deal flow for women business professionals. We are so excited with the corporate sponsors enthusiasm for our new business efforts and will look forward to continued momentum," said Mariana Danilovic, WITI CEO.
