NEW! Special Sunday Women's Leadership Workshop

Born To Lead
Bill Lamond, President The Feminine Principle in Leadership
July 9, 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Design a personal strategy that enables you to express magnificence in every area of your life!

When my daughter, Maris, was five, she would dance around the living room and sing, "I'm great, great, great. I'm me, me, me." Like most children her age, she had not yet learned to suppress her delight in herself. I have often wondered what happens to an exuberant five year old that leaves her, as an adult, in virtual silence about her passion and her greatness. In this Leadership Intensive, you will rediscover the unique truth about yourself and regain your Voice, which is the key to living a life of fulfillment and happiness, as well as outstanding results.

Born to Lead has the power to create a profound breakthrough in the way you relate to your unique personal magnificence, how you process information, use your personal power, and communicate - all in harmony with the values women hold sacred. Instead of working on your greatness... start standing in it.

Born to Lead offers you the tools to create a roadmap, a personal strategic plan:

  • To complete the past and start from a brand new place - at the center of your life in a first-class, leadership position
  • To identify the elements that, when nourished, will impact your performance & perspective with immediate results
  • To develop a unique, strategic question that has your personal magnificence at its core
  • To give Voice to the visions, appetites and desires that are in harmony with your magnificence
  • "I am a best-selling author who has felt completely invisible. In Bill's program, I burst open my Voice and walked into a different world - one where I can see myself as the brilliant, talented woman I really am. Within a few hours, I was offered a major speaking engagement in France."

    Powerful and Connected:
An Interactive Workshop for Women in Technology

    Patricia Shafer, President Compel Ltd.
Barbara Trautlein, PhD, Consultant Compel Ltd
    July 9, 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Never before have there been so many women in technology - women who influence complex networks of information and relationships in organizations. Recognizing this, WITI's mission is to empower women worldwide to achieve unimagined possibilities and transformations through technology, leadership and economic prosperity.

On Sunday, July 9, WITI will take another significant step toward fulfilling its mission with a unique, interactive workshop, held in Las Vegas, and designed specifically for women in technology. Titled: "Powerful and Connected," the workshop will be led by "courageous leadership" consultant Patricia Shafer, a contributing author to the successful book Enlightened Power: How Women are Transforming the Practice of Leadership (Wiley/Jossey-Bass, 2005), and president of Compel Organizational Excellence Alliance, Ltd. Her co-leader will be Dr. Barbara Trautlein, also a consultant at Compel Ltd., who has teamed with Shafer in a number of initiatives focused on empowering women around the world.

The foundation of the workshop is a belief shared by Shafer, Trautlein and WITI that the most successful 21st century organizations will be more connected, communicative, collaborative, participative and relationship-oriented - but only if new visions and forms of technology are thoughtfully developed to meet the challenge. Importantly, women in technology - when their leadership potential is more fully-tapped - are the ideal candidates to lead the way. Yet, often, "women's ways of managing and leading" are not fully leveraged within technology functions and companies. The "Powerful and Connected" workshop goes right to the heart of this matter.

The agenda for "Powerful and Connected" is divided into four dialogue - and experience-driven presentations and topics:

ONE: "Enlightened Power: What is it, and why is it needed?"
Drawing from the principles of the successful book "Enlightened Power: How Women are Transforming the Practice of Leadership", you will be guided to an understanding of women's innate ways of leading, as well as increase your understanding of organizational and environmental forces that call for this style of leadership in the 21st century.

TWO: "Looking Inward: How can I tap my own potential?"
Using right-brain, creative exercises, you will explore your own current and potential identity as a leader, including memories of when you successfully caused a positive change, your current leadership strengths and weaknesses, and what is possible when your Deeper Power(SM) is tapped and shared. The section will help move you toward a new level of inner values, strength and courage essential to your own leadership development journey.

THREE: "Looking Outward: Images of Power that Surround Us"
Here, you will receive a new and integrated picture of messages that we receive every day about what "power" and "influence" typically look like and are defined as - both within the technology realm, as well as in organizations in general. Your facilitators will share their own research and observations about how women perceive "power and influence," and why women often report feeling dis-empowered. The result will be new insights into how to more confidently navigate your surroundings and work relationships.

FOUR: "Getting Connected: Seeing the Change that We Can Be"
Last, you will participate in an energizing exercise that will help connect you with other women participating in the workshop. The result will be both greater clarity on how you can be an individual leader of positive change, as well as how to identify opportunities to link with other women in technology. You will gain new insight into how to use emergent relationships to learn, build your own capacity, and shape your organization and the world.

You can register for "Powerful and Connected: An Interactive Workshop for Women in Technology," alone, or on an optional basis to supplement registration for "Taking the Lead in the Digital Age." Upon registration, you will be sent complimentary seminar reading materials, including the monograph, "Deeper Power: Initiating Women into a New Paradigm of Leadership," by Carol Anderson and Patricia Shafer.
