Amanda McConnell - Rent.com

Amanda McConnell is the Head of Product at Rent.com, the nation's number one internet listing site in the rental housing industry. Her responsibilities include leading the Product Strategy for Rent.com, overseeing the product roadmap and managing the product lifecycle process. Amanda is well versed in agile development and believes in an environment of creative collaboration to drive product driven results through innovation.

Amanda has been a professional in the internet space since 2000. Prior to Rent.com, she served as Senior Director of User Experience and Product Management at ReachLocal, where she led multi-language launches in the European Union and Asia and expanded the UxUi team to become a global resource for all products, as well as leading mobile strategy for the company. She also has a strong focus in social media at companies such as BuzzMedia, Inc (Buzznet, Celebuzz) and TasWorld, as well as leading projects for Southern Poverty Law Center, California Pizza Kitchen, HealthNet and many others.

Amanda received a Bachelor’s of Science in Applied Mathematics, with an emphasis in Statistics from the University of California Los Angeles. She is a true LA native, with family roots going back to 1917 and is a third generation UCLA alum, following in her mother & grandmother's footsteps.

Amanda is a member of Women in Technology International (WITI) and is a regular speaker at their annual summit.


New Position for Deb Stark, WITI Boston Program Chair

Good news - Deb Stark, WITI Boston Program Chair, landed a field marketing management position at Charles River Development in Burlington MA. Deb will be handling all field events across the Americas and working closely with regional sales teams to develop emotionally rich demand generation campaigns.

Charles River Development provides software, hosting and data services to automate front and middle office investment operations for buy-side firms. On-premise software and SaaS solutions support portfolio management, compliance and risk monitoring, access to global liquidity, and trade processing. The company has more than 300 clients in 38 countries in the institutional asset and fund management, alternative investments, wealth management, insurance, banking and pension markets.

WITI Announces Promotion of Michele Weisblatt To Global Executive Vice President

November 29, 2011 (WITI Wire)-- WITI (Women in Technology International) is thrilled to announce the promotion of Michele Weisblatt to Executive Vice President of WITI, worldwide. Prior to her promotion, Michele served WITI as the VP of Business Development and Corporate Partnerships, overseeing annual and event sponsorships, corporate membership packages, and business development within the US on WITI's behalf. The promotion sees Michele developing and managing all global relationships and staff across all territories for WITI, internationally.

Before becoming an employee of WITI, Michele having worked in IT for a number years and having often been only one of two women on large teams, joined WITI to assist women, as herself, in growing the female market within the IT sector.

Michele served as IT Practice Director for Spherion, Inc. (now Technisource), one of the nations leading technology staffing providers, where her responsibilities included driving Spherion's sales and business development for the greater Los Angeles market. In this role she served as the senior leader for the overall technology consulting and recruiting services.

Prior to Spherion, Michele worked as a Consulting Engineer and Designer/Programmer for one of the world's leading computer companies, Apple. Michele worked with Fortune 500 companies and startups developing custom applications that leveraged Apples WebObjects technology.

Before joining Apple, Michele worked as a Programmer at Image Info, Inc. to develop systems for the company, which had thousands of licensed users from small and mid-sized designers and manufacturers to industry giants like Calvin Klein, Donna Karan, Hugo Boss, Zegna, and Diesel.


Sarah Oesch Named Project Manager for WITI's Regional Networks

Sarah Oesch is the Project Manager for WITI's Regional Networks. Sarah serves as the primary point of contact for all WITI Network Directors, overseeing all WITI Network activities including the creation of effective leadership councils, event and membership marketing initiatives and the development of location-based partnerships with area corporations and leading executives.  Prior to joining the WITI team Sarah was a Technical Recruiter for Technisource. She was responsible for sourcing, interviewing, and facilitating the hiring of top level technical talent. Previously Sarah held Graduate Advisor and Program Manager positions in the Medical Device and Diagnostic Engineering Program at USC. Sarah is a true connector and excels at fostering long-term business relationships. Concurrent to her responsibilities with WITI, Sarah is a wife and mother of a beautiful baby girl and a CHD Angel.
