Christine Williams
Network Director
Christine Williams is a global Software Sourcing manager. She began her career in programming for an independent phone company. Her next moves into business analysis, GIS system design and implementation, project management, system integrations, and Enterprise Architecture provide a strong technology background and expertise.
As part of an acquisition, she moved into full time management of software contracts and licenses. She reviewed and understood the obligations and rights under a myriad of software contracts. Her focus was contract negotiation, vendor relationships, compliance, vendor management, and software asset management for North America.
Christine joined her present company with offices worldwide where she defines global software sourcing strategies, builds strong and positive vendor partnerships, negotiates contracts, reviews software compliance, manages software budgets, and compares software products for the most advantageous options for her clients.
Laura Karbarz
Programming Chair
Laura has over 24 years of experience in the technology industry as a sales and consulting services executive. Laura started her career at Accenture and has been employed by Whittman-Hart, Avanade, and Microsoft. She has been responsible for selling and delivering large services engagements and software product deals. Laura has become a leader in articulating the value and return on investment of information technology purchases and implementation.
Laura started her career in the consulting industry as an application architect and developer evangelizing leading edge object-oriented technologies. As a Senior Manager at Accenture, she led many large enterprise systems development and implementation projects including customer order systems for electric and gas utility customers, energy trading systems, customer care, and finance.
Laura became an internal IT Director at Whittman-Hart, building a team of 60 people to deliver a $30M, fully integrated, information systems portfolio. She accepted the CTO position at Inwarehouse, a start up company in Houston focused on warehouse management services. She initiated and expanded the Avanade business and presence in the Houston marketplace. Laura worked extensively on crafting enterprise technology services deals and sold one of the largest outsourcing deals at Avanade.
Most recently Laura has continued to advise customers on Microsoft technology in her role as a Business Productivity Solution Specialist. She is responsible for building and growing the business productivity software solutions in the Energy market.
Laura is originally from Chicago, she and her husband Frank live in Houston, and have two children. Laura graduated from the University of St. Francis in Joliet, Illinois with a B.S. degree in Computer Science. She is an avid tennis player and enjoys the outdoors often on a tandem bicycle with her husband and children.
Tracy Rummel
Programming Co-Chair
Tracy Rummel is Marketing and Silicon Valley Alliance Lead for the Microsoft US OEM distribution and reseller business. She works across organizations and job functions to create marketing and readiness strategies for the channel. Her work has been recognized for multiple best practices worldwide, ultimately winning her the worldwide Rising Star award from the Silicon Valley Alliance team. She spends time across the managed and unmanaged partner business, calling on seven distribution partners across the country and oversees all aspects of outreach and engagement for thousands of unmanaged reseller partners. She is also the US OEM business lead for the Distribution Advisory Council and Worldwide Partner Conference.
Prior to this, Tracy started a marketing and branding agency, The Brandsoup Agency that she ran from Houston, Texas for 10 years. Her clients spanned a range of technology and consumer products companies. She also worked in a variety of marketing roles for Nokia, Dr Pepper, Sprint, HP and Siemens. Tracy has a passion for finding creative solutions and driving big results.
