Cathy Thomas - Membership Chair

Cathy has extensive experience in consulting, operational IT and strategic sourcing, especially in the financial services and utility industries. She has acted as a vendor, client and also a trusted advisor in a variety of strategic sourcing transactions.

During her time at Transpire Cathy has worked on a variety of sourcing transactions. More recently she was involved with a wholesale telecommunications provider, where she was initially engaged to assist with the preparation of the RFP. This engagement was extended to manage the evaluation of the RFP. Due to her understanding of the business requirements she was asked to continue to assist the preferred Supplier with requirements workshops as well as assisting with the commercial side in the preparation of the Statement of Work. The client then asked Cathy to manage the systems implementation of the GIS platform as well as manage a high profile business remediation project.

For an online content provider Cathy has managed a service management implementation delivering ITSM processes and a Service Management toolset for the client. This required managing requirements workshops, managing a vendor to deliver the toolset and provide advice on the establishment of the service desk.

When Cathy was in the utility industry she project managed, on more than one occasion, the implementation of time-critical and business-critical changes that utilities were compelled to implement by Vencorp, the gas industry regulator in Victoria.
