Dr. Jennie Hwang has been a success in both technology and business for the past 25 years. She has held senior managerial positions with Lockheed Marietta Corp., SCM, and IEM and founded two entrepreneurial businesses, International Electronic Materials Corp. and H-Technologies Group, Inc.

Internationally renowned as a pioneer in the field of Surface Mount Technology, Dr. Hwang has been instrumental in creating the technologies that make your cell phone work better and your Internet access faster. She holds nine patents and is the only woman to be national president of the Surface Mount Technology Association.

Dr. Hwang is a worldwide speaker and the author of more than 150 publications and several textbooks in leading technologies as well as articles on trade, business, education and social concerns, including diversity and women's issues. Her books, columns, and publications have been widely cited in the industry worldwide. She serves on various boards and committees, contributing to government policy, corporate governance, educational institutes and the community.

Dr. Hwang earned her bachelor's degree in chemistry from National ChengKung University in Taiwan, a master's from Kent State University's Liquid Crystal Institute and a second masters from Columbia University in chemistry. She is the first woman to earn a doctorate from Case Western Reserve University in materials engineering. She has established an endowment fund at her alma mater dedicated to the education of women in science and engineering. She is the recipient of the distinguished alumni awards from both Case Western Reserve University and ChengKung University. She is also a member of the National Academy of Engineering.

Dr. Hwang has two children: a son, Raymond, attending Harvard Medical School and a daughter, Rosalind, a junior at Wellesley College.
