Melendy Lovett
President, Texas Instruments Educational & Productivity Solutions(profile at the time of induction in 2005) Melendy Lovett is the first woman in Texas Instrument's history to be named business president. She is a founder of the Women of Texas Instruments Fund, an organization that champions math, science and technology education opportunities for young women. Melendy leads a $500 million dollar worldwide business that's focused on market-leading education technology designed to improve the teaching and learning of math and science. More than just bringing innovative TI calculators to market, she has focused her group on using research to continue driving products and programs that truly help students perform. Melendy's ultimate goal and direction for her organization is to inspire all students to achieve their full potential. She wants to help today's students become the technology innovators of tomorrow by making math and science more engaging through the use of innovative tools and technologies. In all her professional roles, she has effectively used benchmark technology to solve business problems. At TI, she co-led the successful implementation of worldwide human resources and payroll systems that were rolled out to 26 different countries in only 20 months. Melendy's forward-thinking developed and effectively launched a cost-effective, Internet-based online personal financial statement for all TI employees, which has been effectively used, to this day, to retain top talent. For the past 25 years, Melendy has faced and overcome the many challenges associated with being one of the few women leaders in the male-dominated oil, gas, consulting and semiconductor industries. She has gracefully overcome these challenges by always keeping a positive attitude and giving back professionally and personally with her expertise, experience and time to help peers advance and young women choose careers in science and technology. She is an exceptionally gifted and influential individual with an unwavering commitment to creating and facilitating meaningful, results-oriented programs that effectively encourage, motivate and enable the next generation to pursue and succeed in their chosen fields.
