Lynda Weinman is a business owner, computer instructor, and author, who founded an online software training website, lynda.com, with her husband, Bruce Heavin. Lynda.com was acquired by LinkedIn in April 2015 for $1.5 billion. Lynda has self-taught computer skills. She has worked in the film industry as a special effects animator and has taught at the Art Center College of Design, the American Film Institute, and at San Francisco State University. She teaches in multimedia studies, computer graphics, animation, interactive design, and motion graphics.
Her work history includes "RoboCop 2" (1990), "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure" (1989), and "Star Trek V: The Final Frontier" (1989). As an animator, she worked with Dreamquest and as a special effects artist. Lynda co-founded the Flashforward Conferences and the Flash Film Festival.
Lynda has over 20 books published through Pearson and New Riders Publishing that deal with Photoshop, web design, and other program development.

She is on the board of Santa Barbara International Film Festival; Lotusland; AIGA National Board Member; Miller Freeman Web Design & Development Conferences; "New Media" magazine; The Evergreen State College Foundation Board of Governors & Trustees.
