Cari Yuen
Western Area Technical Support Manager at SunService, a division of Sun Microsystems

Cari T. Yuen is currently the western area technical support manager for SunService, a division of Sun Microsystems Computer Corporation.

Yuen's extensive knowledge of the Unix operating system environment and her engineering background allow her to lead the "best and brightest" support engineers in taking care of restoring the customer to stable ground (what Yuen refers to as her single focus). Yuen's strength is in keeping the customer first and looking at the total solution while breaking the problem down to the lowest code levels thought possible. She often refines the "drill down" process as the fundamental plan for success when dealing with complex issues surrounding customers diverse environments.

Yuen received honors upon graduating in June 1982 from McKinley High School in Honolulu. Her formal education includes a B.S. in electrical engineering which she earned in December of 1986 from the University of Hawaii. She furthered her education to include an MBA in Marketing in August 1993. Yuen's first foray into the business world took her to Boeing Aircraft in Seattle, Washington where she was a software engineer. She joined Sun Microsystems in 1988.

Yuen's honors/awards include; I.E.E.E. Student Chapter, President 1985-86; I.E.E.E. Hawaii State Executive Board Member 1985-86; 1982 Junior Miss Contestant; nominated for the 1986 "First Lady Outstanding Volunteer Award"; Computer House "Top Sales Person Award" June 1986.

Yuen balances her 24 hour "be available" job with her husband Calvin, and her three-month-old son Christian.
