Jennifer Brace

User Interface Supervisor, Ford Motor Company
302 - Breakfast Keynote Presentation by Ford Motors - Behind Every Success Is a Group of Mentors and Motivators

Jennifer Brace has been working at Ford Motor Company for ten years, with the majority of her time in the Human Machine Interface (HMI) group as a user interface engineer. Since 2006, she has been on the HMI team defining, testing, and refining the user interface of the MyFord Touch system, allowing drivers to better interact with their infotainment systems. In order to do this, Ms. Brace defines the type of interface needed (touch screen, hard switches, voice rec, etc.), logic around performing a task (if a driver wants to save a radio preset, how do they do it?), layout of the controls (where do buttons belong?), and then works with graphic designers to create a visually interesting and user-friendly system.

This role has allowed Ms. Brace the opportunity to collaborate with well-respected companies in the industry - Microsoft, Ideo, Razorfish, Team Detroit, Teleca, Latcha, B-Square, to name a few. She has also had the pleasure of being a spokesperson for the product at many tech and auto shows, as well as appearing in two national commercials.
