Tonya Cauduro
Marketing / Social Media Chair
Tonya Cauduro comes from a background in technology, including an IT degree, which she pursued after an "aha" moment while rehearsing with her last band. She continued singing and songwriting alongside researching, evangelizing, problem solving and educating others in her career as a systems administrator for EDS and a Technology Account Manager for Novell, Inc. Always challenging herself to use both sides of the brain, her love of the logic of technology balanced with her creative side and writing have lead her to social media and marketing.
She is a full time working, single parent to two daughters. Since giving birth to her first child, she learned the value of a healthy lifestyle, lost 50 lbs, participates in charity bike rides and competes in triathlons. She studied natural medicine and homeopathy and treats herself and her children holistically as only a Dr. Mom could. Recognizing that she is their role model, she chooses to be a mother her children will admire and respect, who is positive and always learning. She touches lives daily with her blogging, where she shares lessons learned in everyday encounters in her life.
After staying home with her children for 4 years, Tonya found herself in a career crisis. Joan Bond (a co-worker and fellow WITI board member) convinced Tonya to join her for a WITI luncheon a year ago. Inspired by the speaker and all those she encountered, she volunteered to assist the WITI Dallas organization in whatever way possible, hoping that others would be as inspired as she was. Since then, she has also helped other small businesses (including her employer, Itrus Technologies) and entrepreneurs with their social media campaigns, blogging and marketing. As social media chair for WITI Dallas, she hopes to inspire other women worldwide (and consequentially, their children) to not only embrace technology, but to also continue to honor each other in every social aspect of their lives, technological or in person.
