6:00pm - 8:00pm
Most of us use computers daily. We send email and use chat rooms and
messengers for staying in touch with our friends. We write reports and
documents at work. We also download music, meet friends on social
networking websites, play games, and pay bills. We're law-abiding
citizens, but have you ever thought about what criminals do with their
computers? The FBI has, and because of the prevalence of computers in
illegal activity today, cyber crime has become the FBI's number one
criminal priority.
Special Agent David L. Schrom of the FBI's Las Vegas Cyber Crimes Squad
will explain to us the FBI's fight against online criminals. He will
discuss the Bureau's investigations of computer intrusions, copyright
infringement, child pornography, sexual exploitation of children through
the Internet, and computer fraud. He will help us understand how cyber
terrorists and spies are using computers to threaten our National
Security. Further, Agent Schrom will give us techniques to keep our
kids safe on the Internet.
