CYNTHIA MAYES
DIRECTOR OF IT COMPLIANCE AND SECURITY, LAS VEGAS SANDS CORP
Cynthia Mayes is an Information Technology professional with over 10 years of fast-paced, diverse experience in both the public and private sectors. In Cynthia's current position as Director of IT Compliance and Security for the Las Vegas Sands Corporation, she leads a team responsible for regulatory compliance and security initiatives for IT in the US, China and Singapore. She has served in progressively responsible positions including her previous position of Technology Compliance Manager from MGM MIRAGE. Prior to moving to Las Vegas in 2005, Cynthia was Senior Security Analyst for the Government of Ontario. There Cynthia played key roles in many successful security projects and led a team of security administrators through many years of successful IT audits.


DON IKHTIARI
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF INFORMATION SECURITY,
MGM MIRAGE
Donald is responsible for the Data Security, Technology Compliance, and Network Security (account provisioning/de-provisioning) teams. Current team projects include deploying new security solutions, implementing an enterprise-wide Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) solution, and ensuring regulatory compliance (SOX, PCI, Gaming, etc.) Donald joined Mirage Resorts, Inc. in 1998 as a Senior Systems Engineer and was a key contributor in the opening of the Bellagio and Beau Rivage properties in 1998 and 1999 respectively. As the Director of Systems Engineering for MGM MIRAGE, Donald was responsible for the Windows and mid-range infrastructure strategy and design at MGM MIRAGE, including Active Directory, Citrix, DNS, Exchange, and Enterprise-wide system software. Previous experience includes seven years working for Safetran Systems in R&D, performing software development and modernizing the IT department in the IT Manager role. Prior to that, he spent two years working for McDonnell Douglas in Flight Test, including participation in the FAA certification of the MD-11, MD-80, and C-17 aircraft. Donald earned his M.B.A from the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) and his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Southern Illinois University. His technical certification titles include Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer + Internet (MCSE+I) and Citrix Certified Administrator (CCA). Donald is a strong advocate of security and technology from both a personal and professional standpoint and maintains involvement in controlled Beta testing and early adoption of new products and technologies. Donald is a southern California native and moved to Henderson, NV in 1998. He has been happily married for 14 years and enjoys spending time with his wife and two children.




HANK POVINELLI, VP, IT PMO, BPM & COMPLIANCE,
FONTAINEBLEAU RESORTS
As Fontainebleau Resorts’ VP of their PMO, Hank is responsible for all aspects of Project Management, Business Process Management, and IT Compliance and Governance. Fontainebleau Resorts has recently opened its’ restored and expanded destination resort in Miami Beach, FL and is constructing a mega resort casino on the Las Vegas Strip, opening in October 2009.

Hank brings hands-on experience in diverse leadership positions earning progressive responsibility for all aspects of project management, business development, financial and operations management. He gained his compliance experience creating an Internal Audit department handling SOX compliance for an international hospitality organization.

Hank has a diverse background including Global Director of Business Systems and Compliance Officer for Diamond Resorts International where he established project and implementation teams in the US and Europe; Corporate Director of Business Systems for Homestore.com driving the consolidation of systems to support Realtor.com; and Operations leadership in outsourced HR services with ADP and Paychex.
He is the current president for the Las Vegas chapter of ISACA and an active member of PMI and AITP.


SAFFET OZDEMIR, INFORMATION SECURITY OFFICER,
ZAPPOS.COM, INC.
Saffet Ozdemir has been in the Information Security field for over 8 years and in Information Technology for over 12. Prior to his arrival in Las Vegas, he worked primarily for financial institutions in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he most recently served as an Information Security Officer for Wachovia Bank. There, he was immersed in the world of information security compliance and assisted several companies in developing their own security programs. In addition, Saffet was an active member in the BITS organization and played an integral role in the development of the FISAP program. He recently moved to Las Vegas and entered the online retail sector, currently serving as the Information Security Officer at Zappos.com, where he has been tasked with establishing the company’s information security program.


TERRY DAUS
SECURITY PRACTICE, LINK TECHNOLOGIES
Mr. Terry Daus has over 25 years in the computer industry, the last 20 in security. He has held corporate positions as Auditor, Director of IT and VP-Security with major corporations, as well as co-founder, CEO and senior security engineer of his own 15-person security consulting company with offices in Las Vegas and Los Angeles. He is personally involved with the selection and management of each Link Technologies security consultant, ensuring the highest standards of professionalism, objectivity and confidentiality in each engagement. Mr. Daus holds multiple security certifications including CISSP, NSA-IAM/IEM and SANS GSEC, as well as vendor certifications from the leading security companies. He has his BA from University of California, Santa Barbara, and his MBA from California Lutheran University, and is currently Vice President of the Las Vegas ISSA chapter.

AARON DAVIES-MORRIS
DIRECTOR, PRICEWATERHOUSECOOPERS’ TECHNOLOGY ADVISORY PRACTICE

Aaron is a Director in PricewaterhouseCoopers' Technology Advisory practice and brings more than 14 years of experience in information systems, security, and consulting leadership, having held executive roles in several security product and consulting organizations. He has experience executing and managing security assessment, PCI compliance reviews, privacy assessment, strategy and policy projects; also implementing packaged security solutions including: deployments of anti-fraud, IDS, vulnerability management, firewall, SIM/SEM and automated compliance management solutions. Prior to PwC Aaron held national responsibility for Internet Security Systems VISA CISP compliance program and currently leads multiple projects in the PCI assessment and remediation space. Aaron is a CISPP, received his BS and MBA from the University of California, Irvine and lives in Orange County, Ca with his wife and four children.
