History of PTDN

The first PTDN was started in the Seattle area in 1997 as a network of company and professional organization leaders with an interest in promoting workforce diversity. The first PTDN event was held in January 1998, and was billed as a "Power Networking" evening. Events feature presentations, company/organization showcases, table topics, networking, career opportunities, etc. Since 1997, the PTDN has grown tremendously. The concept has caught on in several other cities, spawning groups in the San Francisco Bay Area, Portland, Detroit, Cedar Rapids, Twin Cities, Boston, and Washington D.C.
