Poornima will be speaking about the criticality of women not only securing a role in technology but staying there for the long term. As an established leader in the field of technical mentorship and education, she has valuable insights on the “Miss” conceptions that have impacted women and how to overcome them. She is looking forward to meeting all of you and encourages everyone to ask questions to create a conversation in addition to her presentation.

Poornima Vijayashanker is currently the founder at Femgineer, an education startup that empowers engineers, founders, and product leads to transform their ideas into tangible, high-impact products.

Poornima is a dynamic speaker, entrepreneur, author and creative technologist featured on multiple TEDx events. She has also been a lecturer at Duke University's Pratt School of Engineering and an entrepreneur-in-residence at 500 Startups.

She was the founding engineer at Mint.com, where she helped build, launch, and scale the product until its acquisition in 2009. When she's not building products or companies she enjoys Bikram yoga, rock climbing, and running. Poornima lives in sunny Palo Alto, CA.
