Our Coaches Roberta Silverstein and Erica Zeidenberg will facilitate creative writing techniques versus technical writing techniques.

Roberta Silverstein BIO:

Roberta Silverstein is a 26 year seasoned marketing and communications professional providing strategic counsel as well as program development, social media, copywriting and tradeshow management. Roberta cut her eye teeth in technology marketing for semiconductor, server and networking security companies. She has over 10 years’ experience successfully building management and marketing personas for Alliances and Industry Standards Groups including the Multimedia over Coax Alliance. Roberta writes and creates technical and non-technical copy and content. Her ability to translate high-tech to high-touch, user-friendly formats makes her work accessible and readable. Roberta’s journalistic efforts have been featured in California CEO, San Jose Magazine, SV Business Journals, Marketing News, Broker/Agent Magazine and Electronic News. Roberta also performs comprehensive positioning and branding work using the Ogilvy method of research. She combines this technique with positioning expertise gained while working with Jack Trout. Sharing and learning about marketing and communications is a passion for Roberta. She has been an adjunct professor at Santa Clara University, San Francisco State University and University of Phoenix.

Erica Zeidenberg BIO:

Erica Zeidenberg is a successful, results-oriented public relations professional who has been called the “flogger-in-chief” when it comes to getting clients talked about in the media. She founded Hot Tomato Marketing in 2001. The firm specializes in finding and selling “the story” �" what sets a client’s business or service apart and how best to communicate that story to the appropriate journalists so they want to write about it. Hot Tomato will develop key messages, create the angle and use media outreach to all types of media, as well as social media, to gain client exposure. Clients are all technology companies �" mostly all startups and they are located both in Silicon Valley and the US as well as around the world.

Prior to starting her own firm, Ms. Zeidenberg worked on the corporate side as a marketing communications manager at Sun Microsystems and as a marketing communications director at a telecommunications technology company. She also worked in several account capacities at large San Francisco public relations agencies specializing in top technology clients.

Ms. Zeidenberg holds a master’s degree from Boston University in Broadcast Journalism and a B.A. in American Studies from the University of Rochester.
