WOMEN GET CERTIFIED AT THE METRO WATER DISTRICT
In a standing room only meeting, Bobbie Becker held a spellbound
group of close to 100 WITI small business owners at the
Winning Government Contracts meeting hosted by WITI and
the Southern California Metro Water District meeting on
December 12th.
This
was a productive and inspiring meeting! - Bobbie talked
about how she transformed the Southern California Metro
District from a closed door, old boys system to an environment
which now welcomes small businesses to apply for any one
of the millions of dollars worth of contracts waiting to
be awarded.
To demonstrate
her commitment to WITI business owners, Bobbie brought in
the project managers to tell us what they needed, spent
the time walking us through the process of how to work with
them, passed out certification applications, brought in
a Notary Public and certified any business owner interested
and willing to stay the extra hour for the process.

Stats for Women in Business
December
29, 2002 Ninety percent (90%) of both women and
men investors use at least one advisor and, on average,
use three different advisors to help them make investment
decisions. Women with higher levels of investable assets
- $500,000 or more - are most likely to turn to multiple
advisors - an average of 3.2 compared to just 2.4 among
men.
