Jo Abernathy is the Vice President of Information Systems Business Applications at BCBSNC. Her story is really remarkable in that she started with BCBSNC right out of college as a customer service representative and 15 or so years later she's a VP. She obtained her MBA from UNC and is a successful working mom. I can't wait for you to hear her story.

About Our Speaker(s)

Jo Abernathy is a Vice President in Information Technology at Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina. Jo has an undergraduate degree from UNC-Chapel Hill and a graduate degree from UNC-Greensboro. She has been employed by BCBSNC for 21 years, starting as a customer service representative after college. She has held various leadership roles in technology, including Technical Support, Systems Programming & Engineering, Data Center Operations, Data Warehousing, and Applications Development. Jo will offer her thoughts on what it takes to be a successful IT leader in a corporate environment.
