The Lost Art of Being Human

Tuesday, April 30, 2013
6 pm to 9 pm

With over two billion people on the planet connected through the web, and one billion connected via media-rich devices like smartphones and tablets, it would stand to reason that we would feel more connected. But we don't. In fact, studies now suggest that we have never been lonelier. And this loneliness is cutting us off from each other with every tweet, text or update.

In this illuminating and entertaining presentation, award-winning brand expert and BrandU co-creator Kim Castle shares simple yet powerful solutions for inspiring and fostering real connection once again--without getting rid of the devices that we have grown to love and depend on. It all starts with a tingle.

About Our Speaker(s)

With over 20 years of brand development alongside Fortune 500 companies like Disney, General Motors, Wolfgang Puck and others, Kim mentors small business owners around the world to grow from concept to the Inc. 500 list.

Wary of the growing disconnection she saw in big business, Kim Castle co-created BrandU to connect small business owners to the power they have as a brand--giving them the guidance and support to develop stability, independence and full self-expression.

An international magazine columnist, speaker, author and TV host, Kim has been featured on CNN Headline News, Fox Business News, Yahoo Small Business and Inc Magazine. Her work won a Webby Award for General Motors. She was also nominated for the Los Angeles Business Journal's "Women Making a Difference" Award but lost out to the women who rebranded the Kiwi fruit.

Creative, strategic and engagin, she has an uncanny ability to track emerging trends before they happen and tap into the heart of humanity.
