experiences as leaders in the IT field. They will be talking about what
leadership means to them and how to demonstrate leadership, as well as
the little things you can do to secure your "seat at the table". Laura
and Becky bring a broad range of experience as women in IT and this will

About Our Speaker(s)

Laura Fucci
Laura is the Chief Information Officer for Clark County, Nevada. Clark County is home to the world-famous Las Vegas Strip, heart of the Entertainment Capital of the World and site of 14 of the nation's 15 largest hotels. In addition to hosting more than 38 million tourists annually, Clark County is also one of the fastest-growing areas in the country, with more than 5,000 people moving here each month. Laura's goals as CIO of Clark County are to further improve county services through the use of technology and to help prepare the county for further growth. Prior to joining Clark County, Laura worked for 11 years at MGM MIRAGE in a variety of roles, including VP and CTO for MGM MIRAGE. She was responsible for infrastructure strategy and design at MGM MIRAGE including systems and network engineering, data security, telecommunications architecture, and compliance as it relates to technology and IT processes. She led various engineering efforts for two property openings, and assisted with two large mergers and acquisitions. Laura has obtained various awards and recognition of technical excellence on behalf of MGM MIRAGE IT including the inclusion in Juniper's Master of IT series, Symantec Visionary Award, BMC Gold Award for Best Practices in Enterprise Management, inclusion in the Journal of The Computerworld Honors Program "A Search for New Heroes", to name a few. Laura was employed 13 years at CH2M HILL before joining MGM MIRAGE. She held a variety of positions, including Regional Manager of IT in which she was responsible for vetting and implementing new technologies across 50+ offices nationwide. Laura earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science at Oregon State University. She is a native to Henderson, Nevada, is married with two wonderful children, and enjoys music, travel, and cooking.

Becky Wanta is the new CIO for State Compensation Insurance Fund (SCIF) based in San Francisco, CA.Prior to her current position, she was CEO & President of RSW1C, and Chief Information Officer of Best Buy, North America’s number one specialty retailer of consumer electronics, personal computers, entertainment software, and appliances. Prior to joining Best Buy, Becky was the Global Chief Technology Officer of PepsiCo Inc. where she developed and commenced implementation of a multi-year technology strategy. She is also the ex-CTO of Southwest Airlines, Wellpoint, and Wells Fargo. Becky has over 25 years experience in the information technology field. Becky holds a double MBA graduating Magna Cum Laude in her undergraduate degree in MIS; and Summa Cum Laude in her Graduate MBAs. Becky also teaches the Technology curriculum for the Executive MBA in Banking at Pacific Coast Banking School, at the University of Washington in Seattle.
