Exploring Your Life Mission
This series will help you to gain a clear understanding of your unique gifts, passions, needs, and values, so that you can discover what you want to do with the rest of your life. It will help you to answer the questions "What do I want my life to be about? What is my life purpose?" Through a series of four one-hour teleclasses, you will work on creating a "Mission Statement" for your life. This can be used to help you make clear decisions about your life and career choices - decisions that will honor your life purpose. We will discuss the important qualities of a mission statement and how they can be used as a tool to help you live an extraordinary life.
A brief summary of the class follows:
Week 1: Look at your entire life - social, career, financial, spiritual, health, and family. How balanced is it, what areas of your life need work, how would you define a "10" in each area? We will work on defining what you want and why you "really" want it?
Week 2: Clarify your Needs, Values, Natural Gifts, Talents, and Passions. If you don't get your core "needs" met first, you won't be able to focus on your passions and explore your life mission. Most of us operate on autopilot, not even realizing that we are doing this. Understanding who you are and what makes you tick, gives you the freedom to explore new areas in your life.
Week 3: Understand your "empowering" and "limiting" beliefs, how they play out in your life, and how to change the ones that don't serve you anymore. Explore what to do when you "get stuck." How do you quiet that "Board of Directors" in your head that tells you when you "shouldn't or can't" do certain things?
Week 4: Create your Mission Statement, discuss how to use it, and how to set up support systems to help you in life.

Strategies For The Current Economy
The current economy demands that you build a business for primary or ancillary income - beginning now.
The economy and your job security are unpredictable. You need to:
understand the changing economic conditions and how long they will last;
be prepared to -
- start a business;
- adapt your current business to changing economic conditions; or
- create a "back-bedroom" business to increase your income, even if you have full time employment.
Join Joey Tamer, 30-year consultant to technology entrepreneurs, to explore how. She will bring the latest investment and economic news from her panel at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas (1st week of January 2009).
Joey Tamer (www.joeytamer.com) consults to Fortune 500 companies and capitalized start ups to launch, build and expand technology companies, often serving as a "shadow CEO" to extend the CEO's bandwidth. She also advises consultants and service companies on their growth and profitability. She has consulted since the early days of the PC through to her Web 2.0 and Web 3.0 clients of today. She chairs venture and investment panels in technology sectors 4 times each year. She is always current on the changing economy and investment environment, to ensure the safety and success of her clients, who have included J.P. Morgan Capital, Sony, IBM, Apple, Hearst, Blockbuster, Technicolor, Harper Collins, NEC, Time-Warner, Agfa and Scitex, and many early stage ventures such as Earthweb (the first B2B IPO in 1998) and iSuppli (a market leader).
If you have a product business, you must adapt your positioning and target markets to answer current economic changes and needs in your customer base.
If you have a service or consulting business, you must re-position your offerings to support your clients' changing demands as they adapt to this new marketplace.
If you have a job, you should prepare now to build a "back-bedroom" business to increase your income, and to create momentum in that business in case of a sudden layoff, or as an alternative to doing the work of 4 people for the same pay.
Joey will
present her current view of the economy and its affect on jobs and small business;
describe what kinds of businesses can receive venture funding now;
describe how to build new businesses that do not require outside funding;
describe how to find alternative revenue sources for existing businesses;
Show you how to discover your alternative talents and skills to decide on the business you should build.
Offer strategies and tactics for beginning, building and expanding your business -
- whether you are just beginning,
- on a growth curve, or
- stuck at flat or descending revenues in your existing business.
Joey's successes have included the wife/husband team that built a single software product and sold the company in year 4 for $50M; the early Internet company with an IPO in year 5 resulting in $30M+ to each of the three founders; the current software client who raised $15M from only private sources at a $100M valuation, retaining total control of the company and the Board; and the current Web 2.0 company that sought its early investment and instead sold the company in 8 months.
