I like starting the year looking forward, thinking about what I can do to make a difference for WITI members, partners and stakeholders. With a fresh slate, and a new year ahead, I always feel optimism and excitement about taking a fresh look at our goals, our vision and how we can play in a satisfying, meaningful way in the universe we continue to create

As always, I wanted to share my ideas and perceptions and ask you to write me yours, since it has always been your feedback, your perspectives, that have moved our WITI team to achieve greater heights and take on new challenges.

Leadership - over the years, we have talked a great deal about leadership. But I continue to remind myself that talking about leadership is one thing, and walking the talk is another, so I have challenged myself to become a more effective leader this year - and I felt writing a list of commitments is a great way to inspire myself and you towards reaching higher.

Reaching Higher Goals and Commitments for 2008

1. Doing everything possible to ensure WITI women concretely benefit from their association with with WITI. This is very important to me personally, since it concretely honors my mother, Ida Mines, who always was and, even though no longer alive, her voice continues to be, my ongoing inspiration and source of great wisdom.

2. I am committed to taking a more courageous stand on the issues important to me personally and living my ideals more completely, such as:
    a. Animal Rights and Protection.

    b. NEW and effective government leadership

    c. Healthy Living, Smarter Choices.

    d. Kindness - treating every human being as I wish to be treated and encouraging everyone to do the same.
