January 20th Women's March: Power to the Polls

Whether you are a Republican, a Democrat, or an Independent, it’s time for each of us to ask ourselves this question: am I willing to stand passively by while the president and enabling Congress move our country closer to the possibility of a NUCLEAR WAR???

Am I willing to take a stand against racism and the constant public bashing of the FBI, the men and women who work tirelessly to defend our country?

Am I willing to take a stand for Democracy and the liberties we are so fortunate to enjoy?

Those of you who have read WITI's Code of Ethics know that even the slightest hint of racism, will NEVER be tolerated at WITI. We welcome and appreciate the participation of all people regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, color of their skin, religious beliefs, ethnic or cultural background. We are grateful for the opportunity to build relationships with a global community who bring us different perspectives, helps us deepen our understanding and appreciation for our cultural differences and commonalities, and helps each of us become more conscious human beings.

The Centers for Disease Control have just announced they will provide citizens of our country instructions on how to prepare for Nuclear War!!! If this does not shake those of you continuing to be in denial, nothing will.

Frankly, I am not one to go out to march or publicly protest—I have always chosen to write letters, articles, work the phones during presidential campaigns, and focus on building platforms for positive change.

However, this is a different time, and a different situation. I will be participating in the San Luis Obispo Protest rally on Saturday, January 20th. I invite you to consider doing the same in your home town. We have provided a link below so you can find out where your home town may be holding a march or rally and encourage you to participate.

Now that midterm elections are approaching, I know we can make a powerful by adding to the the visual impact of women and men publicly marching, attending rallies letting those leaders chosing party over country that we, as citizens, will be going to the polls in 2018!

It is time for each of us who care about the legacy we want to leave for the next generation to take a stand and make it clear that as citizens we will no longer tolerate a party over country policy, and we will do everything possible to make positive change.

So every day we have a choice—stand passively by, saying to ourselves that nothing we can do will change anything—or take a stand for ourselves, for principle, for the next generation and for the privilege of living in a country committed to liberty and justice for ALL!
