I recently was contacted by someone who wanted to tell me her story, a woman in technology, she said she came to our country as a first generation immigrant, and is now has seats on 2 public boards. Of course I was interested in her story.
I set aside time on my calendar, for a call to hear her story. What happened next made me realize more than ever how important it is to learn the Art of Storytelling. When I agreed to take my time to hear this woman's story, I was expecting to hear a compelling story that would inspire me, perhaps a call to action?
Instead, she shared her story as if she was reading her resume, clearly accomplished, amazing achievements, but I realized this woman needed to learn the Art of Storytelling.
