WITI Leadership Award Winners
Molly Breysse Cox is the Chief of Staff for the GM of the Microsoft IT Service Management Division (SMD). MSIT SMD is responsible for global strategy and delivery for MSIT Security, Infrastructure Engineering, Applications, Infrastructure Operations and Service management. In this role she provides Business Management, Organizational Health and Communications support for the 1200 MSIT SMD employees worldwide enabling SMD to meet their business and organizational goals.
Molly joined Microsoft in 1998 and has gained well-rounded experience through MSIT MSN Internet Access business providing Operations, Marketing and Product Planning support. In November 2007, Molly joined SMD as Chief of Staff. Before joining Microsoft, Molly was at MCI WorldCom in Call Center Consulting Services, and prior to that spent 13 years at Nordstrom in IT Communication Services. At Nordstrom, Molly provided infrastructure network design and engineering support and was responsible for IT Communication Services for their NW Region. During her tenure at Nordstrom Molly spent three years on the Seattle City Light Citizen Advisory Board representing the Downtown Seattle Retail Association.
Molly is passionate, actively participates and holds leadership positions in a number of organizations dedicated to development and increasing opportunities for women. She is and Ambassador for Rural Development Institute (RDI) and is lead of attracting women to Microsoft IT which includes volunteer support for Inspiring Girls Now In Technology Everywhere (IGNITE).
Molly holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Washington and a Master of Arts in Organizational Psychology from Antioch University Seattle Center for Creative Change. She resides in the Seattle area with her husband Kevin Cox and daughters Ashley Shelley and Bridget Dwyer.
Jill Sweeney leads Employee, Retiree and Brand Engagement at Hewlett Packard, an integral part of the Office of Strategy and Technology. She is defines the worldwide strategic direction for employee and retiree brand engagement programs. Through her work with retirees and employees, Jill is committed to developing an engaged community that participates in volunteer outreach, mentoring and collaboration that jointly deliver business results.
A native of Scotland, Jill joined Compaq in 1994 in Service Marketing developing mobile service programs. Jill has held key roles in managing global brand programs for HP Starbucks Alliance, internal and sales communications, mobility, services marketing, sales force automation, ecommerce, and business-to-employee programs. She served as Vice President of Market Development for B2E Solutions, an LLC of Compaq Computer Corporation developing enterprise employee support software. Prior to joining Compaq, Jill had a successful career in Financial Services marketing with Prudential Securities and Merrill Lynch.
Jill holds a BBA in Marketing from the University of Houston. She is a member of the Association of Women in Communications and the International Association of Business Communicators and is the recipient of IABC Bronze and Silver Quill Awards for best in class employee engagement programs and the innovative use of web technologies and a recipient of an American Marketing Association "Prism" award. Jill recently was one of the first Hewlett Packard managers to earn "Green Belt" certification for a marketing improvement program using the Lean Sigma process.
Jill is passionate about mentoring promising young women and men to provide ongoing support for their careers and is involved in several community initiatives to promote technology as a career. An inspirational and motivational speaker, Jill has recently given industry keynotes on topics including diversity, employee engagement and work:life balance.
Jill is very involved in a number of technology leadership programs and is the recipient of several awards. She is the national President of the Association for Women in Computing (AWC) board member and Education Director of the Houston chapter of AWC. In 2002 was one of four HP recipients of its "Technology Leadership" Award. In 2006, Jill was selected to receive the Houston Federation of Business and Professional Women "Women of Excellence" award honoring Jill's efforts to make a difference in her company and community. Jill is also a member of Women in Technology International (WITI) and has been named a recipient of the WITI 2008 Leadership Innovation award. Jill also sits on the advisory board of Houston Achievement Place and is an Ambassador to the Greater Houston Partnership where she is a member of the Education and Workforce Development Advisory Committee. Jill resides in Spring, Texas with her husband and three daughters.
Judy Lin is Senior Vice President and General Manager of Cisco's Ethernet Switching Technology Group. ESTG products generate over $6B in revenue and consist of the Catalyst 3000 and 2000 series of fixed configuration switches as well as Metro Ethernet and Industrial Ethernet switches. In this role she is responsible for driving strategy to continue to deliver the premium network platform to enable Cisco customers to communicate and collaborate effectively on a global basis.
Lin is a senior technology executive with over 20 years of experience leading a variety of start-up and established business. Prior to Cisco, she was senior vice president and general manager at Electronics for Imaging, a leading provider of imaging solutions, where she is responsible for its flagship Fiery product line.
Previously, Lin joined VeriSign in February of 1996 as a founding member of the development team where she was instrumental in building the technology, infrastructure, and products that led the company to $1.5B in revenue. She has also served as senior vice president of product development, IT services, and infrastructure operations.
From 2002-2006, Lin was executive vice president and general manager for VeriSign's Security Services division. In this role, Lin was responsible all worldwide activities for several major lines of business, including SSL Certificates, Enterprise Authentication, Payment Services, and Managed Security Services and Global Security Consulting. These infrastructure services managed millions of security devices, processed over one third of all North America E-Commerce payments, and authenticated hundreds of thousands of businesses and millions of consumers. Under her leadership, the division delivered annual growth in excess of 20%, and made "Secured by VeriSign" one of the most trusted brands on the internet.
Prior to joining VeriSign, Ms. Lin held a variety of software development and management roles at Taligent, Apple Computer and Hewlett-Packard, where she worked on Macintosh operating system, and HP's first commercial UNIX products. She holds dual BA degrees from UC Berkeley for Computer Science and European History.
