For MEMBERS ONLY: WITI Houston Mentoring Program LAUNCH EVENT

In our summer survey, you asked for a conintued focus on mentoring. WITI Houston is pleased to announce the launch on November 20, 2003 of the new Mentoring Program for 2003/2004. If you would like to connect with other professional women for assistance and guidance along your career path, this program is for you! Launch Night will be an event in three phases and is the intoduction to the six month program.

PHASE ONE: is for those who have a desire to help guide others in their professional growth. If this descibes you, you'll want to attend the Mentor Training session that begins at 6:00PM. Coach Helen K. Kreller will be leading the session to clairfy the roles and responsibilities of the mentors and provide some tools to help you as a mentor.

PASE TWO: of the evening with be a mentor - potential mentoree pizza social for some networking and getting acquainted before launching into phase three.

PHASE THREE: is where groups of WITI members will meet to work through some of the initial planning for mentoring. Both mentors and mentorees(partners) will participate in this phase.

Meeting Notes: Advance registration is encouraged to ensure a space and dinner. Walk-ins are accepted on a space available basis. Take advantage of your WITI membership by participating in the Mentoring Program either as a mentor or as a mentor partner.

NOTE: If you wish to take advantage of special testing at the event, there will be a $10 fee for the testing paid at the event.

This event will be held from 6:00-8:30 on Thursday, November 20, 2003 at:

The Houston Technology Center is the sole building on the midtown block bounded by Pierce, Gray, Brazos and Bagby. It is easily reached via either I45 or Hwy 59. There are several parking lots, metered on-street parking and nearby parking garages. From I45 S, take the Pierce/Bagby exit and stay to the right (it's best if you veer to the right where the streets diverge and stay on Bagby).

From I45 N, exit Scott/Downtown and then travel on St. Joseph Parkway, turn left onto Smith or you'll be routed downtown via Brazos or back onto I45 N.

From Hwy 59, exit Brazos and take it to Gray where you can turn left or to Pierce where you must turn right or enter downtown.

Phase Two:
7:00 - 7:30 Mentoree check-in and Pizza Buffet for all
7:30 - 8:30 Group Process Work
8:30 - 8:45 Wrap up and plan for next meetings
8:45 - 9:00 Bus kitchen and meeting area
9:00 Depart HTC building
