Join us for a powerful session with artist and filmmaker Hooman Khalili, who will unveil and speak about his recent monumental mural in Washington D.C. The work, titled “Woman. Life. Freedom.”, brings into public view a bold narrative of courage, solidarity and the enduring fight for human dignity.
Hooman
The mural features two women whose images have come to define resistance and hope:
Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old Kurdish Iranian woman whose death in police custody sparked a global movement.
Shirel Haim?Pour, a young Persian-Jewish soldier killed during the 2023 Hamas attacks, whose portrait stands in solidarity alongside Mahsa’s.

By placing these two women side by side, Khalili invites viewers to contemplate the shared struggles across cultures"and the universal quest for freedom. The mural draws from ancient texts and themes of faith, reclaiming walls as sites of prophetic witness, not just protest.
