DOROTHY MITCHELL-LEEF, M.D. INTRODUCTION

Dorothy E. Mitchell-Leef, M.D. is a 15-year partner of Southeastern Fertility Institute and Reproductive Biology Associates, one of the leading IVF clinics in the U.S., where she specializes in reproductive endocrinology and infertility. Dr. Mitchell-Leef is Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is a past president and member of the Atlanta Obstetrical and Gynecological Society, a member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a founding member of the Society of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology.

Inspired by stories of Elizabeth Blackwell, America’s first woman physician, Dr. Mitchell-Leef became one of the few female medical students at the University of Louisville in 1971, where she completed her internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology and a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility.

Prior to joining her current practice, Dr. Mitchell-Leef was associate professor and Director of the Section of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility in the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at Emory University School of Medicine for ten years.

Dr. Mitchell-Leef is a past president of the Medical Association of Atlanta. She presently serves on the education and research committee, the Women’s Health Series Board, as well as the continuing medical education subcommittee at Northside Hospital. She has also served as President of the Women’s Council for the American Society of Reproductive Medicine.

Atlanta Woman magazine named her one of the city’s top woman physicians, the Consumer’s Research Council of America lists her among America’s top Obstetricians/Gynecologists and Atlanta Magazine honored Dr. Mitchell-Leef as one of “Atlanta’s Top Doctors” in 1999, 2001 and 2003.

With more than 5,000 healthy babies and counting, Dr. Mitchell-Leef continues to contribute positively to the lives of couples wanting to become parents.
