The Two-Second Advantage

WITI Chicago is inviting Chicago Women in Technology to join us at Northwestern University when their Master of Science in Information Technology Program hosts: Kevin Maney on “The Two-Second Advantage: Can We Program Computers to Anticipate the Future As Well As (or Better Than) a Talented Human?

Brain science tells us that human intelligence is based on making constant short term predictions about what’s going to happen next. A new area of research shows that super talented people make these predictions in their chosen fields a little faster, better and more accurately than just about anyone else. This is their two-second advantage. Now engineers and computer scientists are starting to build that two-second advantage into computer systems, making computers function more like brains. With computers now able to react to real-time events, how can companies and organizations use this to their advantage?
