The Future of Work - How to "Future Proof" Your Career and Your Organization

According to Josh Bersin of Deloitte, "Almost 90 percent of HR and business leaders surveyed in the ‘2017 Global Human Capital Trends' research cite a need to re-engineer their entire organizational model. This means rethinking leadership, management, careers and jobs." The Oxford University Martin School of Business study predicts nearly half of today's jobs will be gone in 10 years. In the United States alone, 40% of the workforce participates in the crowd or gig economy, and a recent Deloitte/MIT study found that 70% of business leaders will likely need a new or different talent base to compete in the future. Yet many of our approaches to leadership and talent management have remained unchanged.

Using Bersin's research and "The Future-Proof Workplace" by Linda Sharkey and Morag Barrett, we will explore how leading companies are transforming themselves through new organizational structures leveraging networks of teams, missions that tap into and strengthen culture, and new learning and development models shifting employees from career ladders to career lattices. Molly will present Sharkey and Barrett's Six Strategies to accelerate talent development, reshape your culture, and succeed with purpose.
