Nelse Grundvig oversees the area of Labor Market and Occupational Research for the North Carolina Employment Security Commission. Prior to his involvement with the state of North Carolina, Nelse worked for 16 years in the Labor Market Information (LMI) Center at Job Service North Dakota doing applied research, and economic forecasting where he served as the Governor’s Liaison for the U.S. Census Bureau. Nelse has been involved in several aspects of labor market information producing, presenting, and overseeing both BLS programs and a variety of socio-economic research.

In addition, he is a represents North Carolina as a member of the Board of Directors for the LMI Training Institute. One of the strengths Nelse brings to his work is his ability to present dynamic information regarding the economy, occupations and industries. He presents information in a manner that is useful to experts in all fields. Nelse is a recipient of the prestigious Charles Benefield award, a national award given to individuals for their dedication and advancement of the art and science of labor market information and is a Certified Labor Market Analyst.
