Under Mary Ann McGarry’s leadership, Guild Mortgage has grown from its base in the West to become one of the top lenders in the nation by putting customers first, offering loan options to meet the needs of any homebuyer and working to strengthen communities through the Guild Giving program.

Ms. McGarry began her career with Guild in 1984 as a Supervisor in Internal Audit. She has held many positions including Senior Vice President of loan administration and information technology, named to Guild’s board of directors, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Production Operations Officer and Chief Operating Officer, before being promoted to President in 2005 and CEO in 2007, when she led a management buyout of the company from its founder.

Ms. McGarry has been the driving force in the development and execution of Guild’s strategic growth plans and objectives. As a result, the company is now one of the largest independent mortgage lenders in the U.S. with close to 4,000 employees and 205 retail branches in 33 states. The Guild has established an entrepreneurial culture that values collaboration, while empowering the company’s people to be successful in markets across the country. Mary Ann has received multiple awards and accolades for her leadership and Guild is consistently recognized for its positive contributions to the communities it serves, commitment to customer service and collegial workplace culture.

Ms. McGarry was trained as a certified public accountant (CPA). She currently serves on the investment committee and the servicing committee of the Mortgage Bankers Association, as well as on the Fannie Mae advisory council.
