We are pleased to invite you to a special night with our Congresswoman Lois Capps. Congresswoman Capps will be speaking about the important role of technology in today’s economy. This presentation and open-forum discussion to follow will highlight the opportunities and challenges facing today’s businesswomen, especially those in the technology sector. She will touch on the most effective role for government to expand opportunities for women in business and technology. The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the Fielding Graduate Institute.

Congresswoman Lois Capps was sworn in as a Freshman Member of the 105th Congress on March 17, 1998, after her decisive victory in the special election to succeed her late husband, Congressman Walter Capps.

On November 7, 2000 Capps was reelected to her second full term in office representing California's beautiful Central Coast. She is committed to public service that helps people improve their daily lives through better schools, quality health care, and a cleaner and healthier environment. Capps has led the effort against new offshore oil drilling and has passed legislation to confront the nursing shortage, curb underage drinking, improve mental health services, bring CPR instruction to schools, and provide immediate Medicare coverage to patients suffering from Lou Gehrig's disease. Capps serves on the powerful Energy and Commerce Committee which has jurisdiction over critical technology issues.
