How to Be Coachable is a look at the many angles of receiving coaching for your career, business or marketing. Our panel of the top coaches in the area will help you see how a coach could benefit you, how you can coach others and how to make yourself coachable. The coaches will cover a range of topics from entrepreneurial coaching with Patty to executive coaching with Jill to self-publishing coaching with Ellen. Join us for an exciting night of learning how to receive and give coaching in a variety of ways.

About Our Speaker(s)

Patty DeDominic

Entrepreneur, private investor and corporate and social strategic adviser, Patty DeDominic works internationally and domestically as a business coach and consultant. In 1979 DeDominic founded PDQ Personnel Services, Inc. and later acquired CT Engineering. The company staffed hospitals, universities and national firms first as a staffing service then evolving into a major contractor and outsourcing firm for finance, IT and telecom services. Her companies worked on the space programs, pioneered privatization of many government services saving taxpayers millions of dollars and grew into one of California’s largest employers. PDQCAREERS received distinguished business partner awards from AT&T and the University of Southern California and recognition from the US Department of Labor. In 2006, she sold her businesses to a privately held firm that is now one of the nation’s largest human resources consulting firms with sales over one billion dollars annually.

DeDominic wrote and published Land It, Job Hunting Tips for Prime of Lifers, and GET IT, Short Cuts to Career Success in 2011, and she co-wrote LIFE Moments for Women with Maureen Ford, published by Blue Point books in 2012. In 2010, she published HOW I LOST IT. (Blurb, Amazon) Her first book was The New World of Work, and has an active blog offering free career resources at www.thenewnewworldofwork.com

Capitalizing on over two decades of experience as an entrepreneur and board member, she currently operates DeDominic & Associates a national business consulting firm specializing in high achieving organizations and people. www.dedominic.com DeDominic was named Chief Executive Officer of the Year by the LA Business Journal in 2006.

Patty DeDominic has received over twenty distinguished awards including recognition by the United States Department of Labor as one of America’s finest employers; The Bank One & Working Woman Magazine Top Customer Service Award; The Artemis (business) Award presented in Greece; Northwood University Distinguished Business Leader, the Soroptimists Ruby Award, Entrepreneur of the Year Award from NAWBO and the L.A. Area Chamber of Commerce and The President’s Award from Women Impacting Public Policy (WIPP) presented in Washington, DC. She was inducted into the Women Business Owner's Hall of Fame over ten years ago.

Jill Chiappe coaches top-level corporate executives for 360° assessments and leadership development programs. She also trains small executive teams to become high-functioning teams. Jill’s seminars are often the highest-rated in her client companies. Jill’s most recent project includes a 12-part course for executives on Influencing Skills. Her most popular service is the Executive Tune-Up.

Jill founded and runs Coachability, Inc. (www.BeCoachable.com) a coaching practice which began in San Diego, California in 2000. Jill’s clients have included companies such as Cisco, Gap, Inc., Amgen, eBay, PayPal, KLA-Tencor, Dell, Freightliner, The Body Shop, Backcountry and Sequoia Capital as well as the executives of dozens of venture-funded Silicon Valley technology start-ups.

Clients come to Jill looking for ways to enhance their professional lives through access to the best available executive coaching systems in the business world and validated at the top levels of Fortune 100 companies. Through a partnership with Kate Ludeman at Worth Ethic Corporation, Jill researched Alpha Males and piloted a program to coach Alpha Males and Females in the business world. Jill has received awards from Women's Economic Ventures and WISE consulting consortium.

Jill is also the Network Director for WITI Santa Barbara.

Ellen Reid

Ellen Reid is the expert on the art of self-publishing excellence. Thanks to her background in the film industry and sales and marketing, she has developed key insights that allow her to guide her creative teams in creating final products that consistently exceed client expectations.
